Our Park

I think everyone has a go-to place near their home. A place that ends up being a kind of home-away-from-home, comfortable, and easy place to visit. For some it's a coffee shop, the local library, or a favorite store. For us, it's Heritage Park.

It's a public park near Blacksburg that is a popular spot for dog owners, runners, and people getting engagement photos. We've spent many, many a weekend traipsing the hills of this old farm-turned-park. It's where we walked with friends, through pregnancies and the first years of their lives. It's where Leif's burned so much energy chasing after other dogs and playing in the creek. We've worn the paths the same way each time, knowing them like the backs of our hands. We stop and talk at each of the creek access spots, before turning back up the hill and past the pond.

We were happy to share a snowy walk at our favorite little park with Christine during her visit. Ian rode contentedly on Jim's back, and Leif explored all of the nooks and crannies he knows so well.

And, as always happens when Christine comes.... we got our newest family picture!! Thanks, Christine!

Christine left us today and it's always so sad to see her go. Thank you for a great visit!
We're grateful you wanted to spend your break with us.
