Catching Camaraderie

Frisbee, as I have heard and witnessed, is certainly a sport that exemplifies camaraderie and teamwork. Phoebe, my sister, joined the frisbee team at her university last year and that was all she wrote; she's in love with the sport and crazy about her friends. And it shows through her conversations and busy schedule.

This weekend we all traveled to see her and her team play their first tournament of the year. Not only was it a beautiful weekend, but it was wonderful to see her in her element. Playing a sport she loves, with people she loves, while being loved by everyone around her- she practically glowed!

And, as normally happens when you're around Phoebe, we all caught the enthusiasm!

Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

I didn't catch any of our wonderful host, David, but we had a great time catching up with a great friend. We also got to go to Capital Ale House two times in one weekend- who can complain about that? Not me! The first time we went with our friends and the second time we introduced our parents to the Richmond treasure.

One Voice

My new favorite song, as introduced to me by my lovely sister. She stated that it is "Definite Pinery music," and this couldn't be more true! I look forward to singing it with her with our two voices this summer at our favorite location. Perhaps we'll make it to three voices with another family member chiming in...

Here are the lyrics. Check it out and listen to the Wailin' Jennys. They are beautiful women with beautiful voices.

One Voice

This is the sound of one voice
One spirit, one voice
The sound of one who makes a choice
This is the sound of one voice

This is the sound of voices two
The sound of me singing with you
Helping each other to make it through
This is the sound of voices two

This is the sound of voices three
Singing together in harmony
Surrendering to the mystery
This is the sound of voices three

This is the sound of all of us
Singing with love and the will to trust
Leave the rest behind it will turn to dust
This is the sound of all of us

This is the sound of one voice
One people, one voice
A song for every one of us
This is the sound of one voice
This is the sound of one voice

Happy Birthday Squiddo!!!!

Happy birthday to my darling sister!

She shares her birthday with Edith Wharton who wrote, "Life is always a tightrope or a feather bed. Give me the tightrope."
Phoebe is a beautiful person, through and through, who the epitome of vibrant. She is kind in everything she does. She has always amazed her immediate family in that she has never met a stranger. She is able to see the best in all people and therefore her friends come from all different walks of life.

I admire her strength, wisdom, love for life, passion for literature, and motivation to be better. Because of this she has already been an extremely successful and well-medaled friend, sister, daughter, student, and athlete.

So, today I recognize my sister. One of the most incredible people I know. Through all of the laughter and tears we've shared I wouldn't trade a moment. Thank you for your friendship and for sharing the tight bond of sisterhood. Though we had a few years of time apart, I feel that the last year has been wonderful in bringing us back together. Thank you for a second opportunity. I love being your sister.

You are beautiful. Much love always.

Happy 19th Birthday!
